Rambo believes that “Montenegro will be able to attract ‘green’ tourists, only when we ourselves become ‘green’. Guests are copycats of their hosts.”

He is brimming with ideas and here are just a few tips that in Rambo’s view could help us become greener:

Ports, harbours and marinas should charge for mooring based on engine horsepower not the length of the vessel. “It is absurd that the environmental tax for sailboats that glide along the coast without noise and waves is the same as that for motor boats which plow the sea, make huge waves and permanently destroy the coast and its flora and fauna while disturbing all living things, humans included, with their noise.”
Establish a seacoast utility enterprise to provide service for emptying the bilges. By law it is illegal to discharge waste into the sea, but there needs to be a service to pump it out for you and there needs to be sea communal police to penalize the offenders.
Introduce alternative mode of transportation by the sea to avoid congestion on the roads and reduce CO2 emission. “You can get anywhere by boat in a faster, cooler, cheaper, cleaner and more fun way!”
Make energy-efficiency in construction industry a requirement. It will bring profit to the companies, tax revenue to the state, while people will save money.
Realise that waste is the new wealth and start using it wisely!
